DeskripsionSugarcane harvesting in Batad.jpg
English: Sugarcane harvesting in Batad[1], Iloilo, Philippines. Sugarcane harvesting in the Philippines is mostly done by hand, with workers cutting the cane stalks at the base and then loading them into trucks for delivery to a processing plant. To ensure high sugarcane quality, farmers commonly use insecticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to control pests and diseases, as well as to increase yields. Harvesting usually takes place during the dry season, and sugarcane is harvested at the optimal stage of maturity.
